Award season 2012 is halfway over, with the SAG awards coming up and the Oscar nominations finally released.  With those nominations, of course, comes the list of what the entertainment industry calls the “Oscar snubs.”  As far as that goes, I was surprised that Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t nominated.  It seems that from the first time I heard about his leading role in “J. Edgar,” there was talk about whether or not this was the year he’d get nominated and even win.  But the wait continues for DiCaprio’s fans who want to see him win Oscar gold.  There weren’t really many other surprises to me.  However, there are a few categories in which I don’t know much about the nominees.  I’m also undecided for technical categories such as sound mixing and sound editing.  But outside of those, here are my favorite nominees for this year’s Academy Awards.
